No matter how well you think you did in the interview, you can always improve your chances of getting the job by sending a thank you letter / email. Your note should reiterate your core strengths and emphasize the value you will bring to the company.
This is also a last ditch attempt to speak to any concerns the interviewer may have raised about your qualifications, or to add certain information you did not get a chance to speak about during the interview.
